Coca Cola Use SMS Marketing For Branding


At the recent 2012 Olympics Coca Cola used SMS Marketing to promote their brand, Coco Cola see that SMS Marketing is very cost effective but also enable them to reach a large target audience.

Kim Siler who is a mobile brand strategist for The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta said “Everybody has mobile devices – it is the last place folks look before they buy a Coca-Cola,” 

These days virtually all phones are now SMS capable, which according to The International Association for the Wireless Telecommunications means SMS Marketing can reach 5 billion subscribers worldwide. 

 Over ninety-five percent of contracts for mobile phones have SMS, texting built into the contract agreement. Studies have found that 90  percent of text messages are opened and read by the mobile phone user compared to less than 40 percent of all emails sent. SinglePoint also established that 90 percent of text messages
are read within three minutes of delivery and that the receiver of the text message will read more than 99 percent of all text messages.


Coca Cola see mobile marketing as presenting them with numerous opportunities with point-of-sale and catching the consumers attentions at the moment of truth right before they buy.
